The Great Doily Massacre of 2012

Rather dramatic start to the year don’t you think? Start with a bang as I always say…. Anyhow to explain – I love looking at pretty vintage creations and as I may have mentioned before, I suck at creating it! Some things, remarkably, do not deter me, and I try and try and try again, until something else comes along to distract me. Such is the way of Paper-crafting.
A few months ago I purchased some mini doily things, and there they sat in the drawer as hadn’t a clue what to do with them, abandoned like many other paper-crafting items I decided I needed and couldn’t live without.
Well today I cut one up into teeny tiny pieces, and rather enjoyed the moment of venting my wrath on a small inanimate object.
The poor, abused doily has been turned into a scruffy flower/button thing which if I’m honest is pretty ghastly! Debating whether to peel it off before the glue sets….. Maybe the doily wins after all?
11012012077 The tag was inspired by this weeks challenge over on Try it on Tuesday, which, not surprisingly, required the making of a tag, using some sort of Resist Technique. In case you haven’t noticed, the startlingly white flower was the first thing stamped, with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Everything else was stamped over and around it. I also used a sentiment stamp, a leafy stamp thing and a couple of background effect stamps, using Vintage Photo, Bundled Sage and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks for everything.
A couple of other challenges to enter – it would be rude not to:

And that, as they say, is that.
